Welcome to Savannah College of Education, a pioneering institution born out of the vision to bridge the educational disparities in Ghana's newly created Savannah Region. Created after the signing of Constitutional Instrument (CI) 115 on February 12, 2019, this region, with Damongo as its capital, provided a unique opportunity to fulfil the pressing need for a public college of education. The Savannah Region, Ghana's largest by land area, boasts a rich cultural heritage and immense potential. However, the educational landscape revealed a pressing concern. Despite being home to 12 senior schools, three health institutions, and an agriculture college, the region's average pass rate of 2.34% in the 2020/2021 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results underscored the urgency for targeted interventions. In response, the Savannah Regional House of Chiefs convened to discuss strategic solutions. Recognizing the transformative power of education, they resolved to convert existing structures in Daboya into a vibrant college of education. Thus, Savannah College of Education was established, marking a significant milestone in the region's history. Our institution is dedicated to promoting excellence in education, fostering holistic development, and empowering learners to thrive in all aspects of life.
